Just what I want to hear;
They seek to draw me near.
But when at last I do,
They run as if on cue.
Is this their view of fun –
A game that they have won?
Too easy to take down;
My lips sustain a frown.
But in this hour of need,
Your comfort does exceed.
I cried Lord, help me please!
So quick did You appease.
You gave me solid ground;
You told me I was found.
I won’t face life alone;
Through faith, my sins atone.
My demons lost the fight;
You crushed them with Your might.
They’ve lost their hold on me;
For You have set me free.
The pain of what is past,
Has been released at last.
From here, my life begins;
From here, I know Who wins.
There’s no words to explain,
New life without the pain.
Weighed down for much too long,
I knew my ways were wrong.
More than one could expect –
You simply won’t reject.
When time does slip away,
And I’ve lived my last day,
I never want to say,
There was a different way.
I don’t want to look back,
And see all that I lacked.
So following my heart,
Is where I must now start:
To make the most of time,
And dance to my own rhyme.
To others it may seem,
I dream too big a dream.
And maybe this is true,
But what is that to You?
Before my soul was born,
My dreams did You adorn.
My heart is oh, so glad,
For all the so-called “bad.”
Your fingerprints reveal,
You’re there when I can’t feel.
You have a bigger plan,
Not limited by man.
The trials that I endure,
Can’t stand against Your cure.
Without my painful past,
I’d lack the strength to last.
This very fact You knew;
It’s plain in all You do.
For each and every trial,
Prepares for the next mile.
They serve to make me strong,
My life they will prolong.
And on that life I’d bet,
You’re not through with me yet.
I’m following Your will,
For dreams You do fulfill.

Verse Of The Week:
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. – Proverbs 3:5-6

God says with truth comes great sorrow, and this is clearly seen in your poems.
