I lie in bed awake,
And plot what move to make.
I count each breath I take,
And question what’s at stake.
Ignoring His commands,
The world does force its brands.
Conforming to demands,
The greed within expands.
I tear away the veil,
And see the world will fail.
Its search for the white whale,
Will be to no avail.
The quarry of the sleuth,
Is long forgotten youth.
A world bent on untruth,
Is empty and uncouth.
This quest for best takes toll;
No fire without the coal.
Don’t give this world control,
But strive to feed your soul.
Let’s rise above the grime.
The sands do mark the time,
The golden hands are prime.
Let’s live this life sublime.
Here comes the finish line,
It’s time to sink or shine.
Let’s sip the blood of wine,
And enter the divine.
