A constant, broken heart,

An ever lonely soul;

Unloved right from the start,

But longing to be whole.

For every ray of hope,

Seems bent on fading fast.

How is a girl to cope?

If only it would last.

The bitter journey’s end,

Is lost amid the haze.

At every turn and bend,

Her life becomes a maze.

It’s easy just to hide,

To throw away the key;

To keep it all inside;

And claim to never see.

But then the pain ignites,

A blaze born of a spark.

The time has come to fight,

To step out from the dark.

She knows she’s given all:

Her heart, her soul, her will.

She’s answered every call,

And yet she’s unfulfilled.

If only he would see,

That she is what he needs;

That she could set him free,

That love is where it leads.

To lie within his arms,

To know she’s not alone;

No need for games or charms,

If he’d make her his own.

But silence hides what’s true;

She dares not make it known.

For fear of what he’d do,

Her heart she can not loan.
