A lonely girl can not confide –
She’s up against this world so wide.
She entered life with so much hope,
But with such pain she now must cope.
She tells the world she’s brave and strong;
She’s out to prove they’ve pegged her wrong.
She hides behind a stony face,
And wishes she could find her place.
She tries to live her life concealed,
But truth, in time, will be revealed.
If only she would stop this act –
We all have pasts, that’s just a fact.
The lies of men have disapproved;
She can’t be free until removed.
She leads a life so insecure;
She simply longs to just endure.
She tells herself that things must change;
It’s time for her to rearrange.
If she would learn not to ignore,
The girl God made her at her core,
The devil could no longer say,
“I have your heart, so shall we play?”
She let the world teach her to think,
And we stood by to watch her sink.
A part of her has gone and died;
Her spirit, she has learned to hide.
It’s time we set the record straight.
Let’s do it now – It can not wait.
For God has made us who we are,
And we should let Him set the bar.

A amazing poem. I believe we must find peace in our joys and dreams. Hard to make other people happy. Destiny and decision is our will. God and Devil give opportunity. We must decide our path. I enjoyed this poem. Open the door for ma good discussion.

Thank you! You are absolutely right…in a lot of ways we determine our own fate. Our decisions and reactions carry a lot of power. Perspective is everything.

Brilliant. Very inspired. A great commentary on the current state of our culture and how it affects young women. I have two daughters, 11 and 7, and this really is a heart issue for me.

Steve,
Thank you so much for stopping by and taking the time to share your thoughts. I greatly appreciate your kind words. There seems to be a few core issues that universally impact the lives of women of all ages. It is my sincere hope and prayer that by shining a light on these issues and initiating discussions, young women like your two daughters would be shielded from much of the despair of feeling isolated and alone in a world full of the lost and hurting.
