When all your dreams come true,

They often blindside you.

You wanted for so long,

And in the end it’s wrong.

Perspective draws to light,

Your dreams have lost your sight.

It’s easy just to think,

You’ll find the missing link.

But let the truth be told,

Contentment’s lost its hold.

When set before the test,

We fail to know what’s best.

Let’s open up our minds,

And cast away what blinds.

The grass is not so green,

The blades have lost their sheen.

The things we once did want,

Now have begun to haunt.

What always looked so good,

May not be as it should.

We must remain aware,

That life’s not always fair.

When days are at an end,

There’s One with strength to lend.

He wipes away our tears,

Erases all our fears.

The end is not death’s door,

The threshold of much more.

On earth we are but dust,

Remember this we must.

And cling to what is clear,

The reason why we’re here.

We never have enough,

We claim our lives are rough.

We’re all about excess,

Though we deserve much less.

Let’s gain a heart that’s true,

Give thanks in all we do.
